About Me

Hi, I’m Krishie: a UK-based artist with a passion for capturing the essence of life, through realistic and stylised portraits of people and pets.

I’ve been drawing since childhood, honing my skills through a diverse range of subjects. From drawing comic strips of friends and family, to taking on commissions of realistic portraits for people across the world, art has always been my constant companion.

Graduating in Computer Science [2021] provided me with a wealth of knowledge, allowing me to express myself through technology and to bring my passion for creativity to life.

My true calling has always been art; the global pandemic gave me the space and time to push the boundaries of my creativity. Venturing from cartoons to realistic technical art has allowed me to encapsulate emotions, personalities and the unique characteristics of my subjects, ensuring that every piece tells a story.

I enjoy immersing myself in a variety of expressive creative outlets. Being surrounded by amateur photographers in my family, I grew up with a love for capturing the essence of still life objects, ranging from automotive to architectural photography.

My photography has been displayed in multiple galleries across the world including New York, Berlin, Budapest and Paris. I have also had my work displayed in magazine subscriptions, such as the Straight Six BMW Car Club magazine.

Delving into the realms of words by exploring the nuances of language through poetry and prose, has encouraged the creation of narratives that resonate with emotion and imagination.

Winning awards in local and online writing competitions has inspired the dream to someday publish my work as a physical book.

Some of my earliest memories include my brother teaching me how to play the demo of Monsters Inc on the PlayStation. I grew up playing games like Jak & Daxter and Burnout, which fuelled my lifelong passion for gaming.

My current favourites include Horizon Forbidden West, The Legend of Zelda franchise and The Last of Us. I enjoy exploring the vivid and diverse worlds these games have to offer, and they always inspire me to create more intuitively every time I play.

My childhood obsession for Scooby Doo transcended to developing a love for Mystery-Thriller crime movies and TV shows such as Knives Out, Shutter Island and Breaking Bad.

Immersing myself in TV and movies always provide good inspiration for my art pieces.

I also spend a good amount of time on YouTube, watching content from the Sidemen, Jazza and Beta Squad. These creators have inspired me to create my own YouTube channel where I discuss art-related topics and tutorials.

Lockdown was a pivotal moment in my career: not only did it reignite my love for art, it was also the beginning of my story with crochet.

I enjoy crocheting everything from clothes and accessories to amigurumi plushies. Designing new patterns through crochet encourages me to take risks with my art, pushing the boundaries of creativity and innovation.

My favourite items to create are hand bags and amigurumis, some of which I sell.

These interests are integral parts of my creative process:

  • Writing allows me to weave tales to create characters
  • Photography pushes me to manipulate compositions and structures
  • Video games and movies transport me to imaginative landscapes in new worlds
  • Crochet encourages me to design concepts with functionality and flair.

Together, they form a comprehensive foundation for my artistic practice, guiding my growth and inspiring innovation for every art piece.

Art has evolved rapidly in recent years, with the introduction of AI-driven creations populating a space where human skill was once celebrated.

However, during this transformative era, I take pride in affirming that my art has and will always be a product of human creativity and not AI.
